How will State Van Rental get my vehicle to me? How will I return the vehicle to State Van Rental?

State Van Rental is more than happy to deliver or pick up your rental vehicle practically anywhere within California on a timely basis. Our goal is to make the rental process as quick and effortless as possible for you.

We are happy to offer many different drop-off points to make your trip a little easier. Drop-off is available at both of our corporate locations and we additionally offer drop-offs in Burbank, Long Beach, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, San Diego, and in Orange County.

An additional out-of-state drop-off location is available in Phoenix, Arizona.

What types of vehicles does State Van Rental rent to clients?

A few years back, we decided to specialize our focus on passenger van rentals, but have since added a small group of other popular vehicles. Our fleet includes the following:

  • 7-passenger Kia Sedona
  • 8-passenger Toyota Sienna van
  • 8-passenger Honda Odyssey
  • 12-passenger Chevy Express 3500
  • 15-passenger Chevy Express 3500
  • Chevrolet Express cargo van
  • Ford Transits
  • 12-Passenger Extended Chevy Express 3500

Why should I choose a van for a trip?

Vans are an excellent option for group trips and they can save you big bucks. Traveling in separate cars can be a big headache - it is difficult to stay together on the road, each vehicle has its own gas expense, finding parking near each other can be impossible, some members of the group are left out of conversations, and one of the vehicles in the caravan may experience trouble on the road, which can hold up the entire group.

Choosing a van eliminates all the trouble of traveling separately.

How do I know which vehicle is best for my particular needs?

The customer service department at State Van Rental is always happy to assist our clients in selecting the vehicle that will best fit their needs. Call us at 1-888-315-6888 to speak to a friendly agent to determine which vehicle is best for you.

In what condition can I expect my rental vehicle to be?

When you rent a vehicle from State Van Rental, you can expect a squeaky clean vehicle that is routinely inspected inside, outside, and throughout the engine system. Our frequent maintenance of each vehicle ensures that you have no problems on the roads.

Is there extra room for my luggage?

While there is room for luggage, many of our clients choose a van capable of accommodating more passengers than what will be traveling. They then use the extra space for luggage and other belongings they may be traveling with.

If you plan on hauling large loads, we suggest our cargo van or one of our larger passenger vans with a removeable bench.

What are the requirements to rent a vehicle? Do I have to be a certain age?

All renters must present a valid driver’s license and credit card in their own name. You driving record must indicate that you are a safe driver and clients may be subjected to a Department of Motor Vehicle check.

Liability coverage is required for all drivers. You can purchase this insurance from us, or provide proof of your own. If you are between 21 and 25 years of age, you are required to have full coverage of your own. We don’t provide any insurance for drivers between the ages of 21 and 25, but full coverage is required.

Drivers must be 21 or older to drive our vehicles. Drivers between the ages of 21 - 25 will be charged an additional fee.

Does State Van Rental offer any discounts for vehicle rentals?

State Van Rental often has discounts, coupons, and great group rates. Please frequently check our Specials page to view our current offers.

Are there any special terms that need to be followed when I rent a vehicle from State Van Rental?

State Van Rental does have specific terms to which all drivers are expected to adhere. All clients must:

  • Have a valid driver’s license and credit card
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws
  • Return the rented vehicle with a full tank of gas (this is optional, but the renter will be charged if the vehicle is returned with less fuel than had when rented out)
  • Wear safety belts at all times
  • Have children properly secured in approved seats
  • Refrain from drug and alcohol use when operating the vehicle
  • Not smoke in the rental vehicle
  • Not cross the border into Mexico or Canada (special arrangements can be made for cross-border travel, but renter must provide full coverage in these instances)
  • Be 21 years of age or older (Fees may apply)

Must I bring anything with me when I pickup my rented vehicle?

Upon picking up your rental vehicle, you must present a valid driver’s license and credit card in your own name. As well as proof of liability coverage if you are not purchasing coverage from us.

We are planning on doing a lot of driving. Can I have someone else drive the rented vehicle?

We understand that long road-trips often require more than one driver. Additional drivers must be documented and an additional fee may apply. All individuals driving the vehicle are subject to the same rental terms.

How is my rental rate calculated?

All rentals are charged by the day and will be determined by the type of vehicle you select along with the pickup and drop-off locations. Additional fees will apply if optional services are selected.

What optional services are available when I rent a vehicle?

Our goal is to make your trip transportation as comfortable and easy as possible. For an additional fee, the following options are available:

  • Child car seats
  • Collision damage waivers
  • Roadside assistance
  • Additional drivers
  • GPS navigation
  • Tow hitch package

Does State Van Rental require a deposit when I make my reservation?

Yes. The required deposit amount varies depending on the model of vehicle you choose.

Can I cancel an existing vehicle reservation?

Yes. We require a 72-hour cancellation notice, and you will not be charged for cancelling. If you give us less than 48 hours, you will be given a full-day rental charge, plus any taxes that apply.

What if I am late returning my rented vehicle?

We understand that traffic and other obstacles can interfere with getting your vehicle back to us at the exact time specified, and so we allow a one-hour grace period. After the one-hour grace period has expired, you will be charged for an extra day.

What are my payment options when paying for my rental vehicle?

We accept the following credit cards for deposit and payments:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • AMEX
  • Discover
  • Diners Club
