Western Veterinary Conference 2016 - How to Prepare, Register, and Get Around
The 88th Annual Western Veterinary Conference will be held from March 6-10 at the luxurious Mandalay Bay Convention Center located at 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South in Las Vegas, Nevada. 2016 marks the conference's 88th year of providing elite educational opportunities and veterinary product and service awareness for veterinary students and professionals from around the world.
More than just an academic pow-wow, the conference features some of the world's most respected names from the veterinary field, who provide the event's participants with comprehensive, progressive information on veterinary and human health sciences that veterinarians and their assistants can immediately put into practice at conference's end.
Registering for the Conference
Registration for Western Veterinary Conference 2016 is open to select groups of participants. Invited to register are graduate veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, veterinary practice managers, veterinary administrative staff, DVM students, and veterinary technician students. Guest badges are available for those who don't meet standard registration requirements. However, guests are not permitted to attend the conference's scientific sessions.
Registration fees differ by type of attendee. However, regardless of your classification, registering as early as possible will help you save money. Early registration ran from September 1, 2015 to October 31, 2015. Standard registration begins in November 1, 2015 and runs through February 15, 2016. Late/Onsite registration is available from February 16, 2016 to March 10, 2016. For additional registration details, visit the conference's registration page.
Preparing for the Conference
In addition to the participants listed above, the conference includes speakers, who deliver speeches for the conference's scientific sessions, and exhibitors, who showcase some of the latest, greatest products the veterinary industry has to offer. Participants should bring their best note-taking tools for the scientific sessions and be prepared to provide contact information to exhibitors whose products and services could be of use to veterinary practices.
Ideal preparations for speakers and exhibitors are a bit more complex, but you can read all about them by visiting the For Speakers page and the For Exhibitors page on the conference's website. The page for exhibitors is especially helpful thanks to its comprehensive FAQ section that covers everything from how to ship merchandise and crates, to receiving official exhibitor badges, to the provision of lead retrieval options.
